  6. This file contains three Logo Screens:
  7. Start, Wait, and Shut Down. If you aren't
  8. seeing any files, please read on!
  9.  
  10. The files have the extension of ".sys", which
  11. makes them SYSTEM files. However, they are
  12. in fact BITMAPS and should you wish to view
  13. them without installing, all you need to do
  14. is change the extension from .sys to .bmp
  15. When you install them, be sure to change the
  16. extensions back to .sys
  17.  
  18. To install the logo screens:
  19. 1. FIRST BACK UP YOUR ORIGINAL LOGO SCREENS
  20.    by copying them to another name! Then:
  21. 2. Copy the "logo.sys" file into your root
  22.    directory, as C:\logo.sys
  23. 3. Copy the "logow.sys" file to
  24.    C:\Windows\logow.sys
  25. 4. Copy the "logos.sys" file to
  26.    C:\Windows\logos.sys
  27.  
  28. PLEASE NOTE:
  29. If you are NOT SEEING any files in this
  30. directory then your Windows system is set to
  31. not read "hidden files". Windows hides system
  32. files from you by default, to prevent accidents.
  33.  
  34. TO CHANGE THIS:
  35. 1. In Windows Explorer, click on the VIEW menu.
  36. 2. Choose FOLDER OPTIONS from the drop-down menu.
  37. 3. Choose the VIEW tab along the top of the
  38.    dialogue box that appears.
  39. 4. From the list that you will see, choose the
  40.    HIDDEN FILES option to SHOW ALL FILES.
  41. 5. Click the OK button.

  43. You should now be able to see the .sys files. :-)
